Abstract
The Kickass Companies Growth model was identified based on a study of over 1100 SMEs and further case studies of 25 of these. The model depicts components and relationships among the very best, most efficient, high- performing SMEs and consists of six interrelated dimensions: 1) Ambition in terms of goals, 2) Customer focus, 3) Focused excellence 4) Interdependence between the firm and its ecosystem, 5) Adaptability and flexibility in the business model and 6) KPIs that emphasize motivation and learning. Following these six dimensions might not be a guarantee of success, and not all components will be equally crucial for all companies, however, our empirical evidence suggests that they increase the probability of success.
