Prefeasibility study on interconnection of the district heating system of the city of Belgrade
Abstract
Within the unique Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll) platform, established by the UN Secretary General, with the Advisory Board presided by the President of the World Bank, 6 accelerators were launched, one of which is the District Energy in Cities Initiative (DES Initiative). The initiative was established in 2014, when it raised funds from various donors, including the Danish Government, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Government of the Republic of Italy and the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program. As a part of GEF funding, the Initiative initiated a three-year project under the title “Increasing Investments in District Heating Power Systems in Cities - SEforAll Energy Efficiency Accelerator", when 4 pilot countries: China, Chile, India and the Republic of Serbia were selected. The global objective of this Initiative is to provide sustainable, available and sufficient energy for everyone by 2030, while doubling energy efficiency and usage of renewable energy sources.
