Clever Cities meeting in Hamburg, 26th - 27th September.

Presented by Rebecca Busck, Amir Alamo and Tom Mackenzie

Demo of the beta Decision Support System (DSS)

The demo will be a step-by-step walkthrough of the open-source decision support system (DSS), that is being developed to support co-creation and collaborative decision-making within European NBS projects. Here's a breakdown of what will be included in the demo:

Onboarding:

  • Signup: Users will begin by signing up for the platform, creating their accounts.
  • Intro: This section will provide users with instructions, examples, and definitions to familiarize them with the platform and its purpose.
  • Experience with Co-creation: Users will learn about the co-creation aspect of the platform, which likely involves collaborative decision-making and gathering input from various stakeholders.
  • Project Association: Users may be asked to choose between urban or suburban projects, indicating the type of project they want to work on.
  • Project Initiation: The demo will guide users through the process of starting a project, which could involve different approaches like government-led or grassroots initiatives.
  • Project Delimitations: Users will be prompted to define specific focus areas for their projects, narrowing down the scope.

Introducing the DSS:

  • Starting Point: Users will start at the initial section, likely with an introductory post that sets the context for decision-making.
  • Considerations: Clicking on a consideration within a section will open a new post with various resources to explore and additional considerations to select.
  • Bookmarking: Users will have the option to save a resource for later reference by using the "Bookmark" feature.
  • My Bookmarks: Users can navigate to a dedicated section called "My bookmarks" to easily find the resources they've saved.
  • Adding to Decision Tree: If a consideration or resource is deemed relevant, users can select "Add to my decision tree" to include it in their decision-making process.
  • Navigating the Decision Tree: Users can navigate from consideration to consideration while continually adding them to their decision tree.
  • My Decision Graph: The demo will show how the decision tree reflects the highlights in the user's "My decision graph," likely offering a visual representation of the decision-making process.
  • My Decision Report: Users can access a section called "My decision report" to view a list of the selected posts and considerations.
  • Generate Report: Finally, users can click "Generate report" to summarize their decision path into a PDF report, which could be valuable for documenting and sharing the decision-making process.

This demo is focused on guiding users through the features and functionality of the DSS, emphasizing collaborative decision-making and providing tools for organizing and documenting the decision-making process.
